You can only produce high quality output if you use high quality equipment and materials. Our non toxic PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament has been chosen very carefully to ensure it was produced with the highest quality carefully controlled and monitored manufacturing processes from renewable resources such as corn starch, tapioca roots or sugar cane.

It takes great care and experience to produce a uniformly dense, bubble free, consistently round roll of filament. Not all filaments available in the market place have been produced by suppliers with this skill. Poor quality filament will create problems during use and inconsistent quality of finish.

Articles 3D printed with PLA filament can be softened by insertion onto hot water. All filament do best if when they are stored they are sealed off from the atmosphere to prevent the absorption of moisture from the air. This does not meen the plastic will be ruined by exposure in a classroom for a few weeks, but long term exposure to a humid atmosphere can have a seriously detrimental effect to the quality of the article you produce and the efficiency of the printing itself.

TIP: If you have had to leave your filament exposed to a humid atmosphere for some time try leaving it in a warm oven for an hour or so as this frequently resolves the problem.
